Have the words “I’m a Scorpio” ever been met with a neutral reaction?

Scorpios are one of the most misunderstood signs of the Zodiac but, if we’re being honest, they wouldn’t want it any other way. Our dear Scorpio placements thrive in secrecy and mystery.

Like the other water signs, Cancer and Pisces, Scorpios possess a deep well of emotional intuition and feeling but often hide it under a layer of Mars-ruled aggression that would sooner cut you with a stare than ask for your sympathy. After all, Scorpios are symbolized by the poison-tailed scorpion, calm but ready to pounce if you dare to find them, or someone they love, in a state of vulnerability.

Call them sex-crazed, call them moody, but Scorpios are undeniably loyal, bitingly funny, and have an umatched connection to the mystic.

As the sun enters Scorpio, we look towards its ruling planet Pluto, the planet of death and transformation. We can all hope to learn from our scorpion friends and their ability to live boldly and dangerously. Here’s our camp guide to work towards a rebirth of your own this Scorpio season.

School and Work

Traditionally ruled by Mars, the planet of war and aggression, Scorpios thrive in competition. Whether or not you are typically the competitive type, a little healthy rivalry could be the ideal motivation to make you step up your game at school and work this season.

Both an intuitive water sign and a steadfast fixed sign, Scorpios possess an unmatched intensity of focus. Let the sun in Scorpio channel your energy into a chosen project or pursuit. You’ll be sure to make progress; just be careful that your focus doesn’t err on the side of obsession.

Relationships

In relationships, as in all things, Scorpio brings intensity. This intensity can translate into exhilarating passion in your romantic and intimate relationships, but it is also something to be cautious of. The high emotional awareness of water signs and the aggressive spirit of Mars, Scorpio’s traditional ruling planet, can stir up jealousy and possessiveness over your partner. If you start to feel green this Scorpio season, make sure to communicate these feelings with your partner directly rather than letting them fester.

Whether you are in or out of a relationship, you might feel a surge in sexual energy with the sun in Scorpio. The sign is at its most powerful when aligned with darkness and taboos, and sexual intimacy is no exception. This is a great time to explore new or untapped sexual desires with a partner who’s excited to do the same (even if that partner is yourself!).

Scorpios do not devote all of their intensity to their sexual relationships though; they are also devoted friends. As a fixed sign, Scorpios are immensely loyal and committed to those they care about most. Tune in to this energy in order to nourish your oldest and truest friendships. If you feel your friendships are more superficial than you’d like, this season is the optimal time to embrace your own depth and dive into a deeper understanding of those close to you.

Free Time

It’s no surprise that Scorpio season and spooky season overlap. At home with death, rebirth, and taboos, Scorpio energy manifests itself in many of our favorite elements of the Halloween season. Use the upcoming holiday as a means to rebirth yourself as a different being, if only for a night.

As November encroaches, you can still take a dip into the darkness with a scary movie binge. Or, you can get comfortable with the themes of death and rebirth by exploring your own spirituality, whether through religious, philosophical or mystical texts, or through intimate conversations with friends.

Self

Scorpio season creates a great environment for personal growth, but this type of growth requires intense inner honesty and leaving behind the behaviors and habits that no longer serve you. As you look inward to find what you need to release to become the next best incarnation of you, remember to be kind to yourself. Leaving things behind is never easy, even when it means making way for better things to come! Find comfort in the aspects of your life that are serving you and take moments to appreciate how far you’ve come in the past twelve months.
